Storage mass is provided by heavy building materials such as bricks and concrete. Buildings with thick, solid walls are very inert and outside temperature fluctuations are hardly noticed. The storage mass ensures that the indoor room temperature remains constant throughout the day or over several days when outside temperatures change.
