Infrastructure
A successful and well-functioning infrastructure is the foundation and prerequisite for the networking and supply of a society. It provides the necessary economic and organizational foundations that are required for the supply and use of a specific area or for the entire economy. Infrastructure in the construction industry can be divided into different types, such as technical infrastructure, social infrastructure and green infrastructure.
Technical infrastructure includes transportation routes such as roads, shipping lanes, railroads and bridges, energy, water and gas supply, digital infrastructure and communications, as well as wastewater and waste disposal facilities. Social infrastructure includes facilities such as schools, kindergartens, hospitals, retirement homes, sports facilities and cultural facilities. Green infrastructure includes green spaces, parks, gardens, forests and bodies of water that are used for recreation, nature conservation and biodiversity.
