The semi-detached house, which is situated on the Tennengebirge in Salzburgerland, was built in solid wood construction. It is insulated with wood fiber insulation boards and the facade consists of pre-greyed sawed timber slats. The two halves of the house share a groundwater heat pump that feeds the underfloor heating system. For water heating, each half of the house has a domestic water heat pump, which obtains the energy for water heating from the underfloor heating circuit.

In the exterior walls there are air inlets for ventilation as needed. The fans in the sanitary rooms continue to run at a low level even when the room is not in use, creating a slight negative pressure in the building and drawing in fresh air.
