Deck Zehn marks the beginning of the Neues Landgut urban quarter in Vienna, where around 1,500 new apartments will be completed by 2027. Designed by BKK-3 Architects, the building combines thoughtful architecture with a clear focus on sustainable construction and energy efficiency.
Energy is supplied through district heating and thermally activated building components, complemented by a photovoltaic system on the roof. The building mass itself functions as a thermal storage system, contributing significantly to reducing overall energy demand.
The eleven-story residential building comprises 229 privately owned apartments and three commercial units. Its distinctive curved balcony bands made of precast concrete elements define the building’s appearance while also serving as thermally active components. Shared amenities such as a rooftop garden, co-working space, sauna, and outdoor fitness area support a resource-efficient and socially sustainable lifestyle.
Completed in 2023, Deck Zehn received the European Property Award (5-Star Award) in the category Residential Development Austria – a model for forward-thinking, energy-efficient housing in Vienna.
