On the site at the southern Oberwiesenfeld / Leonrodplatz in Munich, a multi-storey building with three inner courtyards was created, in which all areas of criminal justice, the Munich Local Court, the Munich Regional Courts I and II, the Munich Higher Regional Court, the Munich Public Prosecutor's Office I and II and the Munich General Prosecutor's Office were brought together. A canteen and cafeteria are also planned in the building.

In the offices, the building component activation (TAB) is operated in change-over mode and is used for heating and cooling. The heat is transferred via low-temperature heating surfaces in the form of heating walls in conjunction with concrete core activation. The TAB is to cover the base load and the heating walls the peak load. In the case of heating, the TAB is supplied as far as possible by a heat pump and the waste heat from the refrigeration machines. In case of higher heat demand, the auxiliary heating is provided by gas condensing boilers. The system temperature in heating mode is 27°/23°C.

For cooling the building, the TAB is supplied with cold water. The system temperature in the TAB is designed to be 17°/21°C for cooling and is charged via a cold water buffer tank using a heat exchanger. For energy efficient use, the cold from the groundwater is first used and introduced into the chilled water buffer tank. Due to the high temperature cooling in the TAB, the groundwater can be used effectively for cooling. Only in case of increased cooling requirements and for low-temperature cooling, mechanical cooling is used. (Text source: Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport)
