As a courtyard building enclosed on three sides, the Gruber and Petters office building fits perfectly into the urban structure of Stockerau and shows a well thought-out combination of wood, brick and concrete, which combines the advantages of the respective materials in the best possible way: Storage-capable exterior walls in brick construction, stiffening staircase core and storage-effective basement made of concrete, for the thermal component activation used for heating and cooling, as well as wide-span floor slabs made of glulam, supported on elegant semicircular wooden columns, on which steel joints carry a post-and-beam glass facade. The execution impresses by a quality detailing and high value in the surface treatment, as well as by an ecologically oriented attitude of the planner and owner.
