With the completion of the "House with a pond", the model construction project "Living + Working in Rosenheim" in November 1999, a fascinating idea had been realized. The combination of an office building with residential units that can be used flexibly is still groundbreaking today. Shortly after completion, the office building and residential units were fully occupied. The residential building was conventionally equipped with hot-water panel heating supplied by the combined heat and power plant in the office building. As a special feature, the apartments were networked with the office wing using data technology in order to ensure an exchange of information here as well and to achieve a high degree of flexibility in use.

Inside, many things are different from other office buildings. For example, there are no multi-layered floor structures, radiators, air conditioning or ventilation systems; instead, the observer notices unrendered concrete surfaces and a lot of woodworking. All floor levels of the office building, including the floor slab and the ceiling slab on the 2nd floor, are included in the storage core activation system. Separate heating surfaces are only used in ancillary rooms.
