The administration building in passive house standard is clearly and pragmatically structured, its floor plans and facades are purposefully adapted to its use as an office building. In order to allow a flexible division of the rooms, the static loads are transferred via a solid core and the exterior walls. These are masoned from innovative thermal insulation bricks, to which a layer of insulating plaster and, above it, finely crafted finishing plaster in broom finish are applied. The kindergarten and residential building, on the other hand, is open and playful in its design and conceived as a hybrid building in the low-energy standard. A horizontally interlocking wooden facade, insulated with mineral wool, was hung in front of the load-bearing structure of reinforced concrete and masonry. The ensemble features photovoltaic systems, sustainable heating, cooling and ventilation systems, and is equipped with four charging stations for electric vehicles. (Text: HK Architects)
