ERGO Group AG
The ERGO office building in Munich is characterized by its two structured volumes and a spacious glass entrance hall with expansive galleries. As part of the renovation of the entrance hall, particular attention was given to renewing the aging metal wall panels in the galleries. The project aimed to restore the atrium to its original condition through a thorough refurbishment of the existing elements, while at the same time integrating modern sustainability standards.

Revitalization of the Metal Wall Panels in the Atrium of Ergo Group AG
As part of the atrium renovation, the 30-year-old metal wall panels underwent a complete refurbishment. The panels were dismantled, transported to the Arnstorf facility for surface treatment, recoated, and prepared for reuse before being reinstalled in the Munich atrium.
This process preserved the architectural appearance of the reception hall while reducing material consumption compared to new production. In addition, modern partition wall systems and project-specific door elements were installed.
The project demonstrates the practical application of circular economy principles in existing buildings: through systematic dismantling, refurbishment, and reinstallation, building components can be returned to the usage cycle while fulfilling both functional and environmental requirements.
