As the "new center" of the municipality, the new Oberndorf town hall is a meeting place for citizens, municipal representatives and employees alike. The three-story building reacts carefully to the homogeneous townscape.

Heating and cooling is achieved by means of thermal component activation, which makes optimum use of the storage masses of the solid building. In line with the smart city concept, the new town hall is supplied in a local heating network together with the new BORG Oberndorf building, which was constructed at the same time. The groundwater heat pump installed there provides the heating and cooling energy for both buildings. A photovoltaic and a solar thermal system installed on the roof of the new school building make optimal use of the synergy effects. Controlled ventilation of all relevant common areas with highly efficient heat recovery and state-of-the-art control technology reduces energy consumption to a minimum and ensures a high level of comfort for all user groups.
